Roof cover for BATE stadium in its final phase
One of Europe’s most modern football stadiums is currently in the final stages of completion in the Belarusian city of Borisov based on the designs from Slovenian architects OFIS. The stadium will be the new home of Belarusian Champion BATE Borisov. The stadium’s most prominent feature is its rather unusual geometry. Its organic-seeming shape is formed using BOEHME® SYSTEMS Classic Shingle Type Efficient.
The completion of the roof covering for the new BATE stadium is currently in its final stages. 80 percent of the BOEHME® SYSTEMS Classic Shingle Type Efficient has already been installed by the assembly team of Building Trust 3. Rather special in this construction: only very few, straight lines which are covered and not visible. Hence the entire roof surface has only four contact lines – the meeting points of the northern, eastern, southern, and western surface sides. These lines are shaped as bevelled, turned over and finally, hinged-in-shingles, resulting in contact seams that are almost invisible. On the whole this project demands the ultimate in precision so as to be able to accomplish the organic shape of the design. BOEHME® SYSTEMS therefore accompanies the works onsite with its competent engineers to provide full expert support.
