Brindisi coal stockyard covered with BOEHME® SYSTEMS classic shingles
Energy producer Enel will start the construction of two new coal stockyards near Brindisi in January 2014. These will replace the already existing plants on the Adria Coast. The dome-shaped structure with its wooden framework is currently under planning. The stockyard's building shell with a diameter of 142 metre will be covered with BOEHME® SYSTEMS classic shingles.
Because of the special shape and durability of the material it was decided to design the outer shell of the coal stockyards with BOEHME® SYSTEMS classic shingles type “Efficient”. Pula (Croatia) based BOEHME SYSTEMS INŽENJERING d.o.o. currently develops a detailed project plan in association with timber construction specialist “Rubner Holding”. It was the “Rubner Group”, which already designed the substructure. Each stockyard will be covered with 21000 square metres of shingles – in this case made of aluminium. In addition 800 running metre of BOEHME® SYSTEMS guttering system will be used. The coverage of the roof consists of 310 triangular single panels, which will be preassembled on the ground and then lifted onto the substructure by a crane, where they will be secured. The dome shape will emerge from the circular bottom to top construction. Overall the construction is expected to be completed within 60 days. Specifically for the project, a real model has been designed to simulate the construct and measure the installation timeMontage innerhalb von 60 Tagen abgeschlossen sein. Eigens für das Projekt wurde jetzt ein reales Modell angefertigt, um die Konstruktion zu simulieren und die voraussichtliche Installationszeit der einzelnen Flächen zu messen.
